Information techinology in Africa is still in its early stages. A number of countries have gone ahead to design programs to equip the nationals with computer skills. One of such centres that is doing a good job is ITCT Africa found in Uganda.

It is located in a cool safe surrounding in Kamwokya a surbub oa Kampala the capital city of Uganda

The vision for this center is to train as many Ugandans as possible and teachers in particular so that tha teachers can catch up with the computer natives(the students)since we the teachers are computer migrants. This is a focused vision.

The center has a training staff of 5 with many other facilitators from neighbouring countries that support the trainings once called upon. The facilitators are all friendly commited and know what they are doing.Big up to Rogers

The courses offered are centered around a computer program using Linux software. These include; Libre office writer, Libre office impress, Libre office calic To mention but a few.

The training

A group of 25 multipliers have just completed a 6 month long series of workshops which have made us better teachers. They have prepared us to handle the "why" generation who basically knew more than us the teachers( that is before this training) but not any more.

Thanx you for equipping us with this very very important skill as teachers. Please contact them they are doing a good job!!
